The customer needed to make their own plug-in units for the 1u and 2u cabinet-mounted units in the 19″ cabinet. The plug-in units had to be “plug in play”, i.e. the plug-in unit had to be easily interchangeable with another, but still remain securely locked in place. The plug-in units were of high power, so they also had to be designed with a proper cooling air flow. The air flow was designed with air deflectors to better target the effect of the fans to the areas that needed cooling. Fitting the injection units into the required 1u and 2u cabinets was very demanding as the space used was limited, also taking into account the high cooling requirements. The plug-in units also came with front plates for the LEDs and connectors. We also assisted the customer in finding subcontractors for the designed sheet metal, painting, printing, etc.
