A customer needs new features for a thermostat that controls the heating of the room air. The mechanics have huge demands on the precision to ensure that the parts fit together correctly. Assembly must be easy, the parts must last and not come loose unnecessarily. The devices measure the temperature of the room air, so the air must be allowed to circulate properly around the sensor and the electronics to cool down. The devices also have their own requirements in terms of humidity. All the mechanics must be supplied as a single unit and be mountable in a variety of mounting boxes. The display must be clearly legible and the buttons must work properly without letting water into the electronics.
