Equipment was needed to manufacture, mark and calibrate the designed product. The starting point was to manufacture only the equipment for the product development phase, to ensure the correctness of the product. Pretty soon, during the design phase of the project, it was already clear that a device was needed for the production line and the requirements increased quite a lot. The device was designed in collaboration with the customer, with the electronics coming from them and the mechanics from us. Once the design was approved, parts were ordered and the machine was built.
The calibration device circulates pressurised water in a controlled way to calibrate the meters. The approved product is laser marked with serial numbers. During the construction and testing phase, the challenges of moving piping, interchangeable sensors and pressure were identified. However, after a little tweaking, the plans worked and the equipment was put on the production line. The final device can calibrate and label 5 meters in a matter of minutes, which are changed using interchangeable jig reels.
